NEW STAMP DUTY RATE ON TRANSFER OF LAND WITHIN NEWLY GAZETTED CITIES AND MUNICIPALITIES KENYA

On 5th April 2024, the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development through the Principal Secretary State Department for Lands and Physical Planning issued a circular to all Land Registrar to immediately effect and start charging the new stamp duty rate of 4% for all transfer of land within the newly gazette cities and municipalities in different counties in Kenya.

Below is the list of the new cities and municipalities that now attracts 4% stamp duty on transfer of land:
